We are presenting new music inspired by “Fire on the Bayou – True Tales From the Civil Rights Battlefront” by Howard Feinstein. We’re excited to present this memoir of Feinstein’s experiences as a criminal prosecutor and litigating attorney with the Civil Right Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he investigated and tried hate crimes and violent interference with federal civil rights laws in the Deep South. Feinstein will be there to speak and answer questions as well as play a number or two (he’s also a blues pianist). All proceeds from the night will be donated to Empowered Women International, a nonprofit serving immigrant, minority, and low-income women.
